Lemony Almond Macaroons

Ingredients
- 14 ounces sweetened flaked coconut
- 1 cup sliced almonds
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest, grated
- 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
- 4 large egg whites
Recipe
- 1 heat oven to 325. line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.
- 2 in a large bowl, combine the coconut, almonds, sugar, lemon zest and salt. stir in the egg whites.
- 3 drop mounds of the mixture (2 t. each) onto the prepared baking sheets.
- 4 bake, switching the sheets halfway through, until the edges begin to brown, 20-25 minutes. transfer to cooling racks to cool completely.
