Coconut Chicken

Total Time: 1 hr Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 50 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 8
  • 1 chicken, in pieces or 1 kg chicken breast, chunks
  • 2 tablespoons sp oil
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
  • 6 segment garlic
  • 1 inch ginger
  • 4 black cardamom pods
  • 1 stick cinnamon
  • 14 ounces coconut milk
  • 1 tablespoon tamarind paste
  • 2 tablespoons tomato puree
  • 14 ounces chopped tomatoes
  • 2 large onions, chopped
  • coriander leaves

Recipe

  • 1 fry onion in olive oil till just staerting to brown. add crushed galic and grated ginger , black cardemom and cinnamon stick and cook for furthet 2 minutes. add salt and chilli and cook for further minute. now add tomato puree and cook for minute and add chicken. keep stirring and cooking for about twenty minutes. add a bit of water every now and then to stop chicken sticking or burning.
  • 2 now add chopped tomato and and corriander, cumin and garam masala and cook for about 10 minute.
  • 3 add coconut milk and tamrind paste and cook for 5 minutes. now garnish it with corriander leaves. you can add more water during last step if you need more sauce.
