Granola Bars

Total Time: 30 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 20
  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 1/4 cup wheat germ
  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries
  • 1/2 cup chopped dates
  • 1/2 cup shredded coconut
  • 1/4 cup sunflower seeds
  • 1/3 cup slivered almonds
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 350 degrees f.
  • 2 spray a 9-inch square baking pan with non-stick cooking spray.
  • 3 combine oats, wheat germ, dried fruits, coconut, sunflower seeds, almonds, cinnamon and salt in a large bowl.
  • 4 combine melted butter and brown sugar in a small bowl until well mixed and any lumps removed.
  • 5 stir in maple syrup, honey, egg and vanilla until smooth.
  • 6 add liquid mixture into dry mixture until dry ingredients are moistened.
  • 7 press mixture firmly and evenly into pan.
  • 8 bake for about 20 minutes, or until golden and firm.
  • 9 cool completely before cutting into squares or bars.
  • 10 note: other varieties of dried fruits and nuts may be substituted to suit your likes and dislikes.
