Granola Bars

Ingredients

- 2 cups rolled oats
- 1/4 cup wheat germ
- 1/2 cup dried cranberries
- 1/2 cup chopped dates
- 1/2 cup shredded coconut
- 1/4 cup sunflower seeds
- 1/3 cup slivered almonds
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 tablespoon melted butter
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 350 degrees f.
- 2 spray a 9-inch square baking pan with non-stick cooking spray.
- 3 combine oats, wheat germ, dried fruits, coconut, sunflower seeds, almonds, cinnamon and salt in a large bowl.
- 4 combine melted butter and brown sugar in a small bowl until well mixed and any lumps removed.
- 5 stir in maple syrup, honey, egg and vanilla until smooth.
- 6 add liquid mixture into dry mixture until dry ingredients are moistened.
- 7 press mixture firmly and evenly into pan.
- 8 bake for about 20 minutes, or until golden and firm.
- 9 cool completely before cutting into squares or bars.
- 10 note: other varieties of dried fruits and nuts may be substituted to suit your likes and dislikes.
