Martha Washington Balls

Ingredients
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 8 ounces sweetened condensed milk
- 2 lbs confectioners' sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 cups pecans, finely chopped
- 1 (24 ounce) package sweetened flaked coconut
- 2 (24 ounce) packages semi-sweet chocolate chips
Recipe
- 1 combine all ingredients except chocolate chips.
- 2 refrigerate over night.
- 3 shape coconut mixture into walnut-size balls.
- 4 freeze until firm.
- 5 melt chocolate chips in a double boiler.
- 6 pierce balls with a tooth pick or wooden skewer, dip balls into chocolate.
- 7 lay on wax paper.
- 8 refrigerate until set.
- 9 store in an airtight container.
- 10 note: this recipe originally called for 1 block of paraffin wax melted in with the chocolate chips. i don't care for the wax, so i don't add it. it's just a personal preference.
