Grandma's Oatmeal Coconut Squares

Total Time: 50 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 45 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened dried shredded coconut
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 325 degrees f. in a medium saucepan, melt butter, add brown sugar, and bring to a boil, stirring occasionally. remove from heat and stir in vanilla. add oatmeal and coconut, mix. let mixture cool then mix in baking powder. press into greased square baking pan. bake 1/2 hour. cut into squares while still hot.
