Grandma's Oatmeal Coconut Squares

Ingredients
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 cups rolled oats
- 1/2 cup unsweetened dried shredded coconut
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 325 degrees f. in a medium saucepan, melt butter, add brown sugar, and bring to a boil, stirring occasionally. remove from heat and stir in vanilla. add oatmeal and coconut, mix. let mixture cool then mix in baking powder. press into greased square baking pan. bake 1/2 hour. cut into squares while still hot.
