Homemade Chewy Granola Bars

Total Time: 40 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • 3 cups oatmeal (*)
  • 1/4-1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup wheat germ
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup peanut butter, melted (i melt both butter and peanut butter together)
  • 1/4 cup syrup
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
  • 1/2 cup sliced almonds (optional)
  • 1/2 cup raisins (optional)
  • 1/2 cup coconut (optional)

Recipe

  • 1 mix the oatmeal, brown sugar and wheat germ together.
  • 2 in a separate bowl, combine butter, peanut butter, syrup, and honey. then add to oatmeal mixture.
  • 3 add any or all of the optional items to your liking.
  • 4 mix well, press well into a greased 9x13 pan and bake at 350 for 20 min., or until golden brown. let cool for 10 minutes and then cut into bars.
  • 5 *you can replace 1 cup of the oatmeal with 1/4 cup flax seed, 1/4 cup sesame seed, 1/4 cup sunflower seeds and 1/4 cup bran, or any combination!).
