Homemade Chewy Granola Bars

Ingredients
- 3 cups oatmeal (*)
- 1/4-1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup wheat germ
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1/4 cup peanut butter, melted (i melt both butter and peanut butter together)
- 1/4 cup syrup
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
- 1/2 cup sliced almonds (optional)
- 1/2 cup raisins (optional)
- 1/2 cup coconut (optional)
Recipe
- 1 mix the oatmeal, brown sugar and wheat germ together.
- 2 in a separate bowl, combine butter, peanut butter, syrup, and honey. then add to oatmeal mixture.
- 3 add any or all of the optional items to your liking.
- 4 mix well, press well into a greased 9x13 pan and bake at 350 for 20 min., or until golden brown. let cool for 10 minutes and then cut into bars.
- 5 *you can replace 1 cup of the oatmeal with 1/4 cup flax seed, 1/4 cup sesame seed, 1/4 cup sunflower seeds and 1/4 cup bran, or any combination!).
