Jean's Red Velvet Cake

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 2 eggs
- 1 ounce red food coloring
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups self rising flour
- 1 teaspoon cocoa
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 1/2 cups sweet milk
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup plain flour, cook until thick, then add
- 1 cup nuts
- 1 cup coconut
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- 2 combine sugar, 1 cup vegetable oil, eggs, food coloring, and vanilla.
- 3 mix well, then add self rising flour, cocoa, buttermilk and baking soda.
- 4 mix well.
- 5 pour into greased and floured cake pans.
- 6 bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes.
- 7 after cake has cooled some, spread icing over cake.
