prize winning oatmeal drop cookies

Ingredients

  • Servings: 5
  • 2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup shortening
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup raisins

Recipe

  • sift together the flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  • add oatmeal, brown sugar, white sugar, shortening, eggs, milk, and vanilla. mix together. stir in 1 cup of chopped walnuts.
  • drop by teaspoonful greased cookie sheets. bake at 375 degrees f (190 degrees c) for 10 to 12 minutes.
