Grandma's Coconut Custard Pie

Ingredients
- 4 eggs, slightly beaten
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 3 cups milk, scalded
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 cup flaked coconut
- 1 flaky pastry crust (aunt nancy's)
Recipe
- 1 combine eggs, salt and sugar.
- 2 add milk and vanilla slowly.
- 3 line pie pan with prepared pastry and pour in filling.
- 4 sprinkle with nutmeg and coconut.
- 5 bake at 450 degrees for 10 minutes, then reduce heat to 325 degrees and bake 30-40 minutes or until knife inserted in center of pie comes out clean.
