Grammie Bea's Chocolate No-bake Cookies

Ingredients
- Servings: 24
- 2 cups sugar
- 1/3 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup peanut butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 1/2-3 cups quaker oats
- 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped (optional)
- 1/2 cup flaked coconut (optional)
- 1/2 cup raisins (optional)
Recipe
- 1 mix the sugar, cocoa, butter, and milk in a med. saucepan, and heat over med. heat, stirring occasionally, until mixture comes to a boil.
- 2 let mixture boil for 2 1/2 mins., then remove from heat.
- 3 stir in the peanut butter, vanilla, and oats. if you are adding coconut and/or raisins, add at this time too.
- 4 if it looks on the runny side and soft, add another 1/2 cup oats gradually, until desired thickness, and mix well.
- 5 you don't want them to spread out too much when you drop them onto the wax paper.
- 6 working quickly, drop by teaspoonfuls onto waxed paper or aluminum foil.
- 7 let cool.
- 8 the serving size is approximate, as it depends on how big you make them.
