Island Macadamia Coconut Bars

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups unbleached all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup unbleached all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup macadamia nuts, chopped
  • 3 1/2 ounces sweetened flaked coconut
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Recipe

  • 1 preheat the oven to 350*.lightly butter a 13x9 baking pan -- set aside.

  • 12 bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
  • 13 cool thoroughly before cutting into bars with a small sturdy knife.
