My Anzac Biscuits

Ingredients

  • Servings: 24
  • 1 cup plain flour
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup desiccated coconut
  • 1 tablespoon golden syrup
  • 65 g butter
  • 60 g margarine
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons bicarbonate of soda
  • 2 tablespoons hot water

Recipe

  • 1 mix first 4 ingredients well.
  • 2 melt butter and margarine with golden syrup over gentle heat.
  • 3 dissolve bicarb in boiling water, stir into the syrup mixture and pour over dry ingredients.
  • 4 mix well.
  • 5 put heaped teaspoons 5cm apart on a baking tray, bake at 160 degrees for about 20 minutes.
  • 6 leave on trays a few minutes before lifting off and allowing to cool.
