German Chocolate Cake Frosting

Ingredients

  • Servings: 12
  • 1 cup half-and-half
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 cup flaked coconut
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Recipe

  • 1 in a medium saucepan, combine the half and half, butter, sugar, yolks and cornstarch.
  • 2 bring to a boil over medium heat.
  • 3 remove from the heat and stir in the coconut and walnuts.
  • 4 cool to room temperature before frosting cake.
