Amish Sauerkraut Surprise Custard Pie

Ingredients

  • Servings: 1
  • 2 1/2 cups milk
  • 3/4 cup drained and chopped sauerkraut
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 (9 inch) pie shell

    Preparation Time: 30 mins Cook Time: 40 mins Ready Time: 1 hr 30 mins

  • preheat oven to 425 degrees f (220 degrees c).
  • in a large bowl, combine milk, sauerkraut, sugar, eggs, vanilla and salt.
  • pour mixture into pie shell. bake at 425 degrees f (220 degrees c) for 35 minutes, or until a knife inserted into filling 1 inch from the edge comes out clean.
