Homemade Granola Bars

Total Time: 30 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • 4 1/2 cups oats (oatmeal, old-fashioned style)
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup butter, melted
  • 3/4 cup honey
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (mini if desired)
  • 1 cup raisins

Recipe

  • 1 lightly grease a 9x13 pan. in a large bowl combine all ingredients except chocolate chips and raisins. once ingredients are mixed, gently fold in chocolate chips and raisins.
  • 2 pour and press mixture into pan (use a sheet of wax paper to press down granola, so it does not stick. lightly grease if needed). bake 18-22 minutes or until golden brown. let cool for 10 minutes and cut. cool completely before removing from pan.
  • 3 wrap individually. can be frozen if desired.
  • 4 *add what you like -- coconut, nuts, sunflower seeds, etc to make it your own. you can also reduce the oatmeal and add other cereal, etc.
