Granola From Syd

Total Time: 1 hr 20 mins Preparation Time: 1 hr 20 mins

Ingredients

  • 5 cups rolled oats
  • 1 cup bran flakes
  • 1 1/2 cups sesame seeds, unhulled
  • 1 1/2 cups wheat germ
  • 1 cup soya flour
  • 1/2 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1 cup dry milk, non-instant
  • 1/2 cup shredded coconut
  • 1 cup raw cashew nuts
  • 1 cup slivered almonds, blanched
  • 1 cup sunflower seeds
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup honey
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups dark raisins

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 250 degrees f.
  • 2 in a large bowl, mix together the first 11 ingredients [the dry ones].
  • 3 in a small bowl, mix the oil, honey & vanilla, & add to the dry mix, folding it in with a wooden spoon.
  • 4 spread this mixture onto the bottom of a large roasting pan, & bake it, stirring occasionally, for 1 1/4 hours, or until light brown.
  • 5 cool the baked granola, stirring it several times, & when cooled, add the raisins.
  • 6 place in tight, glass containers.
