Granola From Syd

Ingredients
- 5 cups rolled oats
- 1 cup bran flakes
- 1 1/2 cups sesame seeds, unhulled
- 1 1/2 cups wheat germ
- 1 cup soya flour
- 1/2 cup dark brown sugar
- 1 cup dry milk, non-instant
- 1/2 cup shredded coconut
- 1 cup raw cashew nuts
- 1 cup slivered almonds, blanched
- 1 cup sunflower seeds
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup honey
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups dark raisins
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 250 degrees f.
- 2 in a large bowl, mix together the first 11 ingredients [the dry ones].
- 3 in a small bowl, mix the oil, honey & vanilla, & add to the dry mix, folding it in with a wooden spoon.
- 4 spread this mixture onto the bottom of a large roasting pan, & bake it, stirring occasionally, for 1 1/4 hours, or until light brown.
- 5 cool the baked granola, stirring it several times, & when cooled, add the raisins.
- 6 place in tight, glass containers.
