German Chocolate Cake Icing

Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup evaporated milk
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup unsweetened coconut

Recipe

  • 1 combine evaporated milk, sugar, egg yolks, butter and vanilla in saucepan.
  • 2 cook over low-medium heat until mixture comes to a full boil, about 5 minutes.
  • 3 continue boiling, stirring constantly, about 2 more minutes or until mixture turns caramel color.
  • 4 add coconut. cool.
  • 5 frost your cake!
