- 1 1/2 cups scalded milk
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3 tablespoons cornstarch
- 3 egg yolks
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1/2 cup shredded coconut
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
Recipe
- 1 add sugar, cornstarch, and salt to beaten egg yolks.
- 2 pour the scalded milk into this; return to double boiler, stir and cook until thickened.
- 3 add butter, coconut, and vanilla.
- 4 pour into a pie tin lined with pastry. bake.
- 5 cover with meringue.
