Chocolate Butterscotch Pie

Total Time: 30 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 8
  • 1 1/4 cups coconut macaroons, crumbs
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped walnuts
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 1/4 cups milk
  • 1 (5 1/2 ounce) can chocolate syrup
  • 3 egg yolks, well beaten
  • 2 tablespoons butter, additional
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • sweetened whipped cream

Recipe

  • 1 combine crumbs, walnuts, and butter.
  • 2 press into a pie pan and bake 8- 10 minutes at 350°f.
  • 3 combine sugar, cornstarch, flour and salt in a saucepan.
  • 4 add milk, syrup and yolk.
  • 5 cook, stirring constantly until mixture comes to a boil.
  • 6 remove from heat.
  • 7 stir in 2 tbsp butter and the vanilla.
  • 8 pour into pie shell and cover with plastic wrap directly on filling.
  • 9 cool and serve with whipped cream.
